This is the China I saw. The old people moving around mostly smiling. Some appeared to have nothing in the way that we know it but happy just the same, even in the dreadful smog. This lady was walking outside of the Forbidden City area and looked up at me on the steps and saw my camera and didn’t seem to mind my snapping the picture...looks like she posed. Then she turned and continued her journey. They revere the old people here.
